Friendly Grading & Challenges
Friendlies now include two new player-facing features: automatic grading after you submit, and a built-in challenge option when you believe an answer was ruled incorrectly. This page explains how both features look and work.
What happens right after you submit?
After submission, the site takes you to a grading screen while your answers are scored. The page updates automatically and continues on its own when grading is finished, so you do not need to refresh unless the page tells you something went wrong.
Grading your answers
Please wait while we score this submission.
This page will automatically continue when grading is complete.
What you see once grading is complete
After grading finishes, each question shows the correct answer and your own result. The key items on each question are:
- Correct Answer: The official answer for that question.
- Correct Rate: The percentage of players who got that question right.
- Your Response: The exact answer you submitted, plus whether it was marked correct or incorrect.
- Multiplier: The priority number you assigned to that question when you submitted.
Question #9
Early iterations of professional football also scheduled games for Thanksgiving Day. The Ohio League was one such league. On Thanksgiving Day in 1917, what team, led by Jim Thorpe, defeated the Detroit Heralds 7-0 to win the championship? This city, the birthplace of the NFL, is still a mecca for all football fans today. City and team nickname required.
How challenging works
If one of your graded answers is marked incorrect and you believe it should count, use the Challenge Grading button on that question. The challenge is tied to that exact response, so you should only challenge when you think the ruling on your submitted answer is wrong.
Once submitted, the status beside your answer changes so you can track where it stands:
Challenge pending review
Your challenge has been submitted and is waiting for a decision. At this stage, the original ruling still shows while the review is in progress.
Challenge Reviewed
Once a decision has been made, the pending badge is replaced with Challenge Reviewed. If staff leave an explanation, it appears directly below your response.

Important things to remember
- You do not need to stay on the grading screen forever; the page will advance automatically once scoring is done.
- A challenge does not instantly change the result. It first moves to a pending state, then updates after review.
- Because they involve a manual review that may take some time, you will receive an email with the outcome when your challenge is reviewed.
- You should also receive an email if one of your graded answers is updated because another player successfully challenged the same answer.
